On the 100th birthday of Pop Art artist Roy Lichtenstein, his impressive work is celebrated. Together with big names such as Andy Warhol and Jackson Pollock, Roy Lichtenstein is undoubtedly one of the most influential and important American artists of the 20th century. Known for his unique comic book characters brought to life with speech bubbles, Lichtenstein leaves a powerful legacy in the art world. Through his skillful use of vibrant colors, clear outlines and the distinctive Ben Day dots that replicated the inexpensive printing technique of comic books, he made his mark on the American art scene in the 1960s with his unmistakable cartoon aesthetic.
